Wherever your favorite music is stored, you can now enjoy it in crystal clarity, because the NA8005 Network Audio Player with USB-DAC connects to everything – to your PC, external hard disc, your NAS as well as to Internet radio and music service Spotify Connect. Moreover, the DAC-mode features optical and coaxial digital input as well as USB-B which means you can use the NA8005’s high-quality DAC and high-quality audio output stage with HDAM-SA2 modules for music directly streamed from your PC.
The NA8005 produces breath-taking audio quality because inside it includes the High Current DSD1792 Audiophile D/A converter as well as a Marantz original PEC777 DSP and Digital Filter – a high-end algorithm previously used only in professional recording studios – which we call Marantz Musical Mastering. This type of filtering retains greater detail for an even wider sound stage and a perfect balance. The Toroidal transformer ensures that there’s always power in store the instant it’s needed, while the rigid copper-plated chassis with 5mm thick aluminium top cover minimize vibration and interference. Importantly, selectable digital filters allow you to tune the sound as you prefer.
The player operates as a soundcard for the PC and the USB-B port works in asynchronous mode to support not only 192 kHz / 24bit files but also DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz for maximized performance. That’s the most direct way to enjoy excellent quality. And you can also stream high resolution FLAC and even DSD files via the network connection too. And on top of all this, there is AirPlay functionality to support direct music streaming from your iDevice or iTunes, and for charging and playback there is also an iDevice-digital-compatible USB input on the front. This is versatility in the extreme, but amazingly it’s also extremely easy to operate via the large display or the Marantz Remote App for Apple and Android.
