MA Player

Matrix has developed the MA Player, a powerful audio playback system based on a Quad-Core ARM Freescale platform and supporting a large majority of popular audio formats. Simply connect a USB hard drive to the Element M or configure a NAS to browse your music library and enjoy it up to 32bit 768kHz for PCM and up to DSD512.

MA Remote App

Matrix also offers an Android application to control the devices in the Element range. This application allows you to browse through your music library and act on playback directly from any mobile device connected to the same local area network (LAN). Matrix continues to improve and update the application, while adding new streaming services. Qobuz and Tidal are already available.

AirPlay & DLNA

Listening to your music stored on your network in streaming is becoming more and more common. The Element M also allows you to play your music from a smartphone or any other mobile device via the AirPlay and DLNA protocols.

MQA Decoding and rendering 

MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning English technology for restoring the sound quality of original recordings. MQA files are also light enough to be streamed or downloaded. The Element M supports MQA technology, allowing you to play and stream MQA files for superior sound quality.

DAC ESS ES9028Pro

The Element M, being positioned in the middle of the range, also wants to have the best quality/price ratio. Matrix uses an ES9028Pro DAC from ESS and a low phase noise SiTime clock in the Element M. Matrix leverages its many years of experience in developing products with ESS chips to maximize performance.

High quality headphone amplifier

The Element M incorporates a low impedance headphone amplifier, based on the use of discrete components. This headphone amplifier uses a bipolar input stage to significantly reduce distortion. The output stage is set to a high idle current state, ensuring impressive sound performance.

Various control methods

The RM3 infrared remote control is common to all products in the Element range. Matrix therefore offers 5 addressing codes to avoid interference between devices. It is also possible to use the virtual remote control of the MA Remote application to access all the functions of the Element M.

Dual shell design

Each material has its own resonance frequency. The Element range of housings feature a double-layer design. The inner housing is made of deep-drawn galvanized steel with multi-band reinforcement grooves for excellent strength, and the outer shell is made of 4mm thick Aluminium. The combination of these two metals eliminates the fixed resonance frequency of each material and significantly reduces the negative noise impact that resonance can have on the housing.
