Davis Acoustics has released the D-Max series, created according to all cinematic rules - with a compression horn tweeter. The products turned out to be very successful. The company not only presented the second reincarnation of this technology but also significantly expanded the range.
The Davis Acoustics Dhavani MK2 is a highly efficient speaker from the D-Max line, ideal for a home theater thanks to the compression chamber. It is a very affordable model that conquers with its sound. With its 21-centimeter cellulose woofer, we get impressive bass that can fill a large room without the need for a subwoofer. The compression horn tweeter and 8-inch woofer are a standard approach for such speakers. At Davis Acoustics, they produce a fairly bright sound. The highs are prominent but not exaggerated. They simply contain a lot of information, helping to create a very large sound space, volume. When there is gunfire in the foreground, you can hear these absolutely clear, unblurred shots and the natural sound of falling shells. And it all comes across very easily and naturally.
The bass is simply stunning! Its lower limit starts from 30 Hz. But the most important thing is that it is absolutely clear, with excellent punch. When the speakers start to reproduce battle scenes and other special effects, it feels like the walls are about to collapse.
What sets the sound of the Davis Acoustics Dhavani MK2 apart from everything else in this price range are the midrange drivers with Kevlar membranes. While in many purely cinematic speakers, the voice can sound nasal or muffled, here it is absolutely clear, transparent, and tonally "correct."
